Do you ever get up in the morning feeling totally pumped with energy? That you are so sure it’s going to be a perfect day, a productive and fun day? But then something happens and it totally gets you out of track. You end up asking yourself, “Why is this happening to me?!”.
You had such a great morning and had lots of energy. But wait, what happened?
So, here are my 4 tips to handle a bad day.
First of all, when something happens, put yourself in perspective. Ask yourself, “Is this really as bad as I am treating this and giving it attention?”. Because sometimes when the no-so-bad things happen to you such as someone is making you mad or you break something, it gets to a point that it’s making you totally lose control over the situation. Was it really that bad? Did someone die? I mean, was it really something that you couldn’t handle or fix?
Most of the time, we are making a big deal out of small negative situations. If you set your mind in the right perspective, you can face and fix anything that happens to you. Take control of the situation and your emotions, and stop whining how bad something is.
Secondly, ask yourself, “Why is this happening to me?”. You see, things don’t just happen, everything happens for a reason! Most of the time, bad things happen to us to teach us a lesson. So, when things get worse for you, come to think of the lessons you can get from the situation. What was it trying to teach you? Once you realized that, it’s a lot easier for you to move on.
My third tip for you is, just breathe. Just stop whatever you are doing, close your eyes and take a deep breath. It is really simple. Inhale and exhale at least ten times and get the good air into your system. It kind of restarts your body while relaxing your mind, clearing your thoughts of the situation and help you move on. Breathe and leave the bad vibes behind.
Now, the last tip I want to give you for handling a bad day is, try to do something physical like running or exercise. A lot of people have a scheduled daily routine. Some like to run in the morning or do a yoga class in the evening. But when bad things happen to you and you feel like it is consuming you, leave whatever you’re doing and take some time to do something physical. Go for a walk or exercise even if you have done it already. Take out all the bad energy out of your system. This way, you’ll be 100 percent ready to leave the negative things behind and move forward with the rest of your day!
I hope these tips will help you handle things the next time you think you’re having a bad day.
Also, don’t forget that you’re not alone! We all have our bad days. A lot of unexpectable things can happen to us but there are ways we can use to face and overcome it by knowing what to do exactly.
