Some people succeed, some simply don’t.

It’s no surprise that successful people have particular habits. If you look at successful people – those who have achieved their financial goals, have become a leader in their industry and have inspired many others – they all do have habits that most people don’t have. It’s not because they don’t have it, it’s just that they don’t take it seriously or they lack information on what those habits are to become successful.

When I just started, I remember I downloaded a PDF file about 5 Daily Habits to Become Successful. It mainly consists of actionable habits – like exercise, motivational and personal development, creating content – I don’t remember the other two, but you’ll get the idea.

Starting out, I was scared and lack the confidence to inspire someone. I had the content and value that I can share to the marketplace, but I was really in a fearful starting stage. After reading the file, I thought to myself, “Okay, how am I going to attack this? How am I hacking all these?! How do I start?”. I suddenly became motivated. I wanted to succeed fast. We all do want to become one of those successful stories.

For me, it was difficult. I was new to the industry and lack all the right information. Of course, there’s always a learning curve for every beginner. But you can make your progress faster when you commit to your goal daily and give your hundred percent.

I started taking those habits in a more serious way. As a beginner, I don’t want to overwhelm myself, so I did it 2-3 times a week. Eventually, when I get used to it, I scale it up to a daily routine.

Then I got to the point where I realized it is not enough. I had a sudden shift in my mindset. I know it’s going to take a while as it is for creating a habit.

So I asked myself…

If you have one habit that you would get rid of right now, which would have the same effect if you adopt a new habit, what would it be?

What is that habit if you eliminate it for the rest of your life, it would make you more focused, committed, professional and better person?

Here’s my personal story…

When I was just starting, my daughter was barely a year old. I bring her to the nursery every day. It opens at 7:30 am. I would bring her in after she woke up which is around 8 to 8:30 am – which is the same time I woke up too since she’s my alarm! I’m able to bring her in at 9 am. Then, time for me to go back home, eat my breakfast and start work at 9:30 or 9:40 am. That is super late for me already! I would have to pick her up again at 4 pm, so, I barely have 7 hours to work.

I decided to take things differently. I know it will be hard doing things I’m not used to be doing.

Let’s take the same situation. This time, I woke up at 6:30 am every morning. Then on, I get a lot of work done just by waiting until my daughter wakes up. I get to eat my breakfast already, drink my coffee and at least do some posting on my Facebook page and think about the value I will incorporate on my blog content for the day. I’m able to respond to my messages and emails.

With this new habit, I get so much done already for the first part of the morning.

If you are having a hard time taking the right mindset and actions to become successful, don’t lose hope and courage especially that if you feel that it is your path.

Remember, it takes time. You are currently taking the learning curve. You just need to be aware of the fact that you have to commit to those habits that will help you and eliminate those that will harm you.

You have to devote on your progress because habits are done long-term and not short-term. It doesn’t necessarily mean that you have to do it all at once. You can start slowly with your daily habits and scale it up eventually.

If you are in a stage where you are still unconfident – let go of the habit that is not contributing to your life. It is what holding you back from achieving your true potential and chance to become successful.

After eliminating one habit that is holding you back, find another one. It’s a continuous cycle. Repeat it until you are left with only good habits.
